Sunday Dinners

Sunday is a great day to spend with family and enjoy some good home cooked food. And if you are Nick, to do your laundry at Grandmas house and not have to pay for it. I was given these pie birds for Christmas and had to try them out. Chicken pot pie and games were a great way to gather the family together.Twinners and Cousins

Turning 24

I dont feel any older...one day doesnt make that much difference, but maybe someday I will feel 24 years old. To celebrate, Matt and I went to the movies to see Lovely Bones. Don't go see it! It will give you nightmares for a week! Of course, Matthew will point out that it was my choice, and it was, but I wasnt expecting serial killers! To comfort our minds and our stomachs we went to Macaroni Grill. It was delicious! Matthew is allergic to shrimp, so it was my chance to order all the seafood I could get, and I didnt share! To finish off the night we headed home to some family, cheesecake, cupcakes, and presents. Thank you to my husband for the wonderful day, gifts, and memories. Nick brought these great cupcakes from The Sweet Tooth Fairy. Thanks Nickypoo, they were delicious!

Disneyland, Quilting, and Presents

We were lucky enough to be able to spend some time with my family while we were down in Southern California. My mom was ecstatic that all her kids were together at one time. To celebrate, we went to Disneyland and had some good times at home. Here are more pictures of our long vacation. My dad collects Father Christmas' so we got this four foot santa to add to his collection. Quilting for Kerstin's new babe coming in March!

Happy Holidays from Sunny San Diego

While our Christmas was not a winter wonderland full of snow and hot chocolate, it was filled with lots of family, warm sun, game playing, going to the beach and more family. We loved it!!! Here are a couple pictures from our happy holidays.

Joshua James with the Family

Last night Josh, Nick (and Nick's date), Matt and I went to see Joshua James at the Velour in Provo. It was so much fun to spend time with family and listen to some great music! I liked Joshua James before but now I am a huge fan. If you dont know who he is or want to hear his music, go to his website and download a free Christmas cd from him! Great stuff!

What do Kobe Bryant and Tiger Woods have in Common?

Talking to people about Tiger Woods and his acts of infidelity, I get a feeling of disappointment and pessimism from a lot of people. Many seem to feel that "he is a horrible role model and exemplifies why our society is in such moral decay," or "with men like him as role models, it is no surprise that divorce rates are skyrocketing" (a common statement not supported by a statistical analysis of divorce rates.)
But, as I notice all the companies that quickly stopped using him in their commercials, I thought to myself, "Man is Good" (if you watch the show Community you will have a better understanding of my use of this quote.) Think about it, marketers do not stand behind immoral men because today's society still has family values and doesn't view these men as good role models. It wasn't a case of "Who cares, he is an athlete." Nope, all men are still held to a moral standard. You fail to represent the ideal family man, you lose millions of dollars. Way to go society, Man is Good!

Youve Had a Birthday Shout Hooray!!!!

Matthew turned 27 on Tuesday! To celebrate we headed north to Salt Lake. We saw the Joseph Smith movie for the first time, walked around temple square, and visited our favorite Thai restaurant! Then we came home to Caramel Pumpkin Gingersnap Cheesecake and presents! I am so lucky to be married to such a fun, energetic, goofy, loving, handsome, 27 year old man! He will be a great father (when the time comes) and already is an amazing husband!!!

Here he is with some of his presents (jacket, shoes and running water bottle)

But most importantly, his favorite present from his parents, a flash for his camera!!!!
