Sneak Peak

We just got some pictures taken of Brooklyn at fotofly, and I am SUPER excited about them!  I am waiting for them to be uploaded to their website and will post some more as soon as they are.  Isn't she beautiful?!

Happy Anniversary/Mother's Day!

Matthew and I celebrated 4 years together on May 10th.  It is pretty amazing to look back on the past four years and see how much we have grown individually and especially as a couple.  Getting engaged is kind of scary because you don't actually know what you are getting into.  You can date someone for as long as you want, but you don't truly know everything about them until you are married.  I have to say, I hit the jackpot! Matthew is so smart, caring, encouraging, inspiring, attractive, and funny!  I love that he still makes me laugh with his sarcasm and corny jokes, and that I can love him more and more each day. It has been a tradition to watch our wedding video on our anniversary, and while that was such a great day for us, I wouldn't change the last four years for anything.
Sadly, the only picture we have together that day.  (Probably the least flattering picture I have taken in a long time.)

On the way to La Jolla Grove in the Riverwoods.  Our food was so delicious and even better because I didn't have to make it!

Matthew had a super busy day on Sunday.  He made me waffles for breakfast, gave a talk in church (which he did awesome at), followed by teaching Sunday School, and then came home to make me dinner.  He made filet mignon with mashed potatoes, asparagus and rolls.  I am one spoiled woman.

(Kisses from me and Brooklyn!)
Brooklyn was super happy all day and made my Mother's Day wonderful!  She did great in nursery again, and all day long she kept saying, "yuv you." (Love you)  So precious.  I love being a mommy!

Nursery

This little sweet pea went to nursery for the first time today!  She did great!  As soon as she saw all the toys and other kids, she was clueless to the fact that we were still in the room.  When I went to pick her up, she looked at me and then just kept playing.  She is such a social little butterfly and I love it!  Doesn't she just look old in this picture?

Easter Fun!

It was so fun to celebrate Easter this year because Brooklyn was old enough to search for eggs and be excited about the stuff in her Easter basket!  She caught on really quickly and got super excited when she found out there was actually something inside the eggs!  She didn't wait for me to take the foil off of her chocolate, she just stuck the whole thing in her mouth.
For dinner we had lots of family over and shared some delicious ham, au gratin potatoes, asparagus and orange rolls.  I had fun setting the table and hosting such a nice meal.
What a great time to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior.  The weather has been beautiful, our flowers are blooming and I get to start my garden.  It is my favorite time of year!

It's About Time

A couple weeks ago Brooklyn was very adamant about getting dressed all by herself.  She ended up with two pairs of pants, a shirt (on her leg) and one around her neck.  It took her 30 mins. to get dressed and was so funny to watch.
Here she is finally dressed!  The next day she wanted to put on her own shoes (two different ones, but they are on the right feet) and she added the hat too!
Here are just a couple of shots at random.  She is so happy when she wakes up :)  In the top right one she is eating a strawberry...her favorite!
And yes...I am one of those people who only post about their kids, but when you have a daughter who is this cute, who can blame me?!
Happy Spring!

Little Miss Lady

Ignore the crazy hair and no clothes.  I thought she would make a mess.
I should have known better.  Brooklyn has always been a lady when it comes to messes; very clean and proper.

Knock on Wood

This sweet little girl is sleeping through the night!  Yes, it's about time.  She would wake up once a night for the past couple months, but we finally kicked the last "wake up" out of our schedule! Mommy is happy, Brooklyn is happy and daddy is so happy for us.
These pictures are a little old, but I thought they were cute and wanted to share.  The second one is from the Bean Museum.
This is usually what Brooklyn looks like if she feeds herself.  :) Thank goodness for bibs!

Rewind

So my mom mentioned I didn't post any pictures of the holidays... so for her sake, and photo journaling's sake, here we go.
Two days before Christmas we went to see the lights at temple square.  It was cold, but could have been a lot worse and we made sure to bundle up!
Here is our Christmas eve and morning.  This year was spent with just the three of us and it was so nice and relaxing.  We got to spend plenty of family time together eating good food and creating new traditions.  We sure missed our other family members though!  Also, I unfortunately only took pictures of  our Christmas morning breakfast.  I do have a couple videos of Brooklyn opening gifts but somehow I completely dropped the ball the rest of the day.
The day after Christmas we went to the west side of Utah lake and got to run around on the frozen ice.  Brooklyn did not want to be held and I was going crazy thinking she might slip and fall but she did great, if not for being completely frozen by the time we got back home.
Our New Years was pretty quiet but fun nonetheless.  Brooklyn went to bed at her normal time and Matthew and I stayed up playing board games.  However, I was the only one to make it til midnight.  I woke Matthew up, he rolled over to give me a kiss, and was out a half second later.  :)  New Year's day we spent going to this awesome park in Pleasant Grove.  It was huge and Brooklyn loved all the slides and swings.  It was such beautiful weather (low 50's!) and we were so happy to be outside!

We are excited for the new year and all that it holds in store for us!

First hair cut!

Yes, it's about time.  Brooklyn had the craziest mullet/rat tail ever!  Even the stylist said she had never seen anything like it.  :)

I thought Brooklyn would scream the whole time, but with the car she sat in, the toys they gave her to play with and the movie they put in front of her face...she did great!  I postponed getting her hair cut for as long as possible because I felt like she wouldn't be my baby any more, but she is so super cute and stylish now, I should have done it a long time ago!
