Love Day
Costingtons Manager: Okay, people, we need to cook up a new holiday for the summer. Something with gifts, cards, assorted gougeables.
Costingtons Woman: How about something religious? We had great penetration last spring with Christmas Two.
Costingtons Man: Oh, I know. Spendover, like Passover, less talk, more presents.
[Everyone starts talking at once]
Costingtons Manager: No, no, no! No, it’s gotta be warm and fuzzy. Some like, um, “Love Day”, but not so lame.
[cut to the Simpsons home several days later]
Marge Simpson: Happy Love Day, everyone!
Lisa Simpson: Come on, Mom, The stores just invented this holiday to make money.
Homer Simpson: Lisa, don’t you ruin another Love Day.
Gotta Love the Simpsons!
Since we missed Valentines Day, Matt and I had Love Day on Monday. He bought me chocolate and even watched a chick flick with me. What a great man! Sad to say the movie was a bust, dont ever watch Nights in Rodanthe... such a waste of time!
Utah! Best Snow on Earth
My grandpa has had cancer for six years, and it has finally caught up with him. Matt and I were fortunate enough to be able to take time off work and visit James Harvey Yeoman for the last time. We were able to say our goodbyes and help out around the house for my grandma. He is sure a loved man as evidenced by his five visitors a day and never ending phone calls. He will be deeply missed. While our reason for going to Utah may not have been the best, we were still able to have a good time and enjoy the blessings of being around friends and family. On Monday, we were able to pick up Rachel, Ashley, and Andrew from school and spend the rest of the day spoiling them and having fun! First we went bowling and played arcade games at BYU, then we went and got pizza at Little Ceasars, played wii at Ben and Rebekah Stay's, and finished the night with ice cream sundaes at the creamery on 9th. We took them home all hopped up on sugar and left them for their mom to control. Sorry Pam! Throughout the rest of the week we visited with grandma and grandpa, shared some good times with Colette and Trevor (thanks for being so accomadating and being so fun to hang out with!)and were able to see some old roommates! We went to all our favorite restaraunts and had stomach aches for the rest of the week because of it. We were also able to go to the Timpanogas temple. It is so beautiful and always a blessing! On Thursday my family was able to join us in Utah and we spent our time playing games, eating out, touring the Bean Museum, and enjoying each others company. It was so much fun to be able to see Jackson play in the snow! I am not sure if he enjoyed it or not but he is so adorable and fun that he makes everything better. We are now back in Lafayette and looking forward to our next vacation, whenever and wherever that will be.
